Vinyl Floor Care
The vinyl floors made today are extremely durable. They will last a long time if they are maintained following the general guidelines recommended by most manufacturer's.

Follow These Steps For Usual Vinyl Care:

Vacuum regularly to remove grit and sand.
Wash your floor occasionally with the floor cleaner recommended by your manufacturer.
Wipe up spills immediately. You can also clean with luke warm water and clear ammonia. If needed clean with the cleaner recommended by your manufacturer.
Should your floor start to look dull you may add a floor polish recommended by the manufacturer to restore the original gloss level. Start by cleaning with luke warm water and clear ammonia. This may remove a film on your floor that is causing the dullness.
Never use abrasive cleaners, soaps, paste waxes, or solvents on your vinyl floor.
Placing non-staining mats at every outside entry to your room will help keep sand and grit from being tracked over your floor.

To Repair Vinyl Floor:

If your floor gets a scrape or gouge in it call your professional floor covering store. Cover the area immediately as a professional installer can repair the area as long as the cut is not filled with dirt. Dirt may cause it to be difficult to repair correctly.
If you have a seam open call a floor covering professional to come to repair the seam. Cover it immediately and do not wash that area until your floor professional repairs it.

Tips:
With the purchase of an inexpensive PVC vinyl floor, it is recommended to put 2-3 coats of floor polish on the floor prior to use. This will make your floor easier to maintain as any vinyl floor with a PVC wear layer will show marks very easily such as scratches and scuffs.
If you need to move heavy furniture or other objects across the floor place plywood or underlayment sheets down first and move furniture over plywood.

Care After Installation:

Protect all seems- Don't walk on seam sealer for first 24 hours
Keep room at 68° or greater to allow adhesives to set up properly for at least 2days
Wait at least 5 days to roll any heavy objects on newly installed vinyl floor. This will cause compression marks that will be permanent. Always place plywood or underlayment sheets down first and move furniture over plywood.
Do not wash floor for 5 days to allow adhesive to thoroughly cure.
Check condition of all caster or rollers of furniture before placing on new vinyl floor.
